Crime Victim, Wrongful Death &

Personal Injury

There are more than 26 million crime victims in the United States each year. Each one of those victims has a civil tort claim that should be investigated.

The trial lawyers at Zarzaur have represented hundreds of individual victims of wrongful conduct including victims of crime. We believe the civil justice system empowers these victims and presents them with an opportunity to get the help or assistance they may need to recover physically, financially and emotionally. Many of our clients have been injured by dangerous conduct such as drunk driving or by dangerous products such as defective guns or drugs. Attorney Gregory Zarzaur has targeted much of his efforts toward helping women and children that have been the victims of sex crimes including sexual abuse, sexual assault, and rape.

The majority of the injury or wrongful death cases that the firm has handled are those most typical in society, including motor vehicle accidents and trucking accidents. Have you or someone you know been a victim of a crime or been injured or killed by unreasonable conduct? If so, please reach out to us for a free initial consultation.

DRUG INJURY

FOR PEOPLE IMPACTED BY DRUG INJURY

FOR PEOPLE IMPACTED BY DRUG INJURY

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reports that from 2007-2010, 45.2% of all Americans used at least one prescription drug in a thirty day period. Despite the astounding number of consumers who use pharmaceuticals, in 2010, the Food and Drug Administration reported that there were over 1,742 recalls of prescription pharmaceuticals.

Many injuries involve pharmaceuticals with dangerous and deadly side effects.  Often, these dangerous drugs make it into households because of failed, biased, or botched clinical trials, or because companies fail to warn of the side effects. Sometimes the issue with the drug has been caused by an intermediary- someone or some company that fails to instruct properly or tampers with the drug.

If you are interested in discussing an injury resulting from prescription drug use, please call our office for a free and confidential consultation.

We are currently investigating potential claims and representing clients impacted by:

  • Risperdal

  • SSRI Anti-Depressant Birth Defects

  • Zofran

  • Abilify

DEFECTIVE MEDICAL DEVICES

WHEN DEFECTIVE MEDICAL PRODUCTS COMPOUND INJURY

Medical Devices help us in enjoying fuller and longer lives, but when they are dangerous, they can make our lives much worse.

If a medical device manufacturer designs a device that is defective, that device can cause serious harm. Sometimes, manufacturers know there is a problem with the device, but they still sell it because they’ve already invested too much money to issue a recall. When this happens and trusting people are injured, the manufacturers and designers of these devices should be held accountable for the real cost that real people have to suffer.

We are currently investigating  potential claims from individuals impacted by:

  • DePuy Orthopaedics ASR XL Acetabular Hip Replacement System

  • Stryker Rejuvenate Hip Implant;

  • Transvaginal/ Pelvic Mesh; and

  • Biomet M2a-Magnum

Prisoner Rights & Constitutional Violations

The aim of all of our work is to create a more just and fair society. One that honors the least among us and that holds those responsible for the suffering of others responsible for their actions.

We have spent the past 5 years in litigation against the Alabama Department of Corrections, (representing ADAP, Alabama Disabilities Advocacy Program) fighting to protect the rights of all prisoners in the state of Alabama. In early 2019, the conditions in Alabama's prisons were found to be unconstitutional by the U.S. Department of Justice. Read more about our work here.

CLASS ACTIONS

BANDING TOGETHER TO FIGHT POWERFUL CORPORATE INTERESTS

Class actions are an important part of our Country, and of our court system. Through class action cases people can band together to fight the most powerful companies.

What is a Class Action lawsuit?

In a Class Action lawsuit, one or more people sue on behalf of a larger group.

Why are class actions filed?

Class actions allow one person who has been harmed to represent many in fighting wrongdoing by powerful companies. Where it would be very hard for one person to fight for justice, class actions allow hundreds, thousands, or millions of people who have common issues to fight for justice.

What type of cases do class actions address?

Class actions cover all types of cases, including, but not limited to, ERISA, consumer fraud, wrongful banking practices, misleading claims, and toxic spills; but to be a class action, the case must have issues which are common to all the members of the class, and the number of people affected must be so large that it isn’t practicable to bring them all individually before the court.

If I think I have an issue that many other people are facing, what should I do?

We have a successful track record of making sure that class members receive real benefits- benefits that allow for both changed business practices and monetary relief. Please call our offices for a free and confidential consultation.
